Main Characters as of Season 5

Jack Shephard is the leader of the crash survivors and plays the main character in the show. He has problems dealing with his fathers death Christian Shephard and has been romantic involved with Kate Austen and Juliet Burke.

Kate Austin is the female lead of the show and was heading to jail at the time of the crash for killing her step-father Wayne Austen. She begins a romantic relationship over the show with both Jack Shephard and James "Sawyer" Ford

John Locke is peherps the most intresting character of the series in the fact that he was considered special from the early age of 5. He was raised in foster care until his teens and doesnt meet his parnets till just before the crash

James "Sawyer" Ford is a ex-confidence man who was in Austrilla looking for the man who killed his parents. He got his nick-name from that man. He is romantic linked to both Kate Austin and Juilet Burke.

Sayid Jarrah is a former commications officer for Iraq and fought in the Gulf War were he was captured by the Americans and tought the art of Turture. He begins a relationship with now dead Shannon Rutherford.

Hugo "Hurley" Reyes is the shows ex-metal patient as he treated for years for depression and talking to people who weren't really there. Before the crash he uses the number one of his fellow patients use and wins the lotto at a mega jack pot of 114 million.

Sun Kwon is the wife of fellow surivor Jin kwon and before the crash was going to leave Jin after learning what he truey did for her father.

Jin Kwon is the husband of Sun Kwon and has problems trying to keep their marrage together. He learns on the island that she secectly having an affair and learning english so she could leave him.

Desmond Hume was on the island before the crash surivors landed. He was inside the hatch for almost 3 years pushing a button every 108 mins so he could "save the world". He is currently in a relationship with Penny Witmore.

Ben Lunus is the leader of the others and main villian of the crash surivors. He was born on the island and will do everything in his power to protect it. Had feelings for Juliet Burke but after she rejected him, he turned of her and left her for dead.

Juliet Burke is the others Fertilty Doctor and was recruted by Other's members  Richard Alpert and Ethan Rom. She has been in romanctic linked to Goodwin Stanhope, Jack Shepard and currently James "Sawyer" Ford.

Daniel Faraday is part of the science team sent to the island by Charles Witmore to capture Ben Lunus. Has a key role in the later seasons as he seems to be the only one who truly understands how the island works. Has feeling for fellow science team member Charlotte Lewis.

Miles Straume is also part of the science team sent to capture Ben Lunus. He has the powers to talk to the dead and as the shows goes on he too started to figure out the mistery surrounding the island.
